Karissa Swanson is thrilled to serve as an Instructional Supervisor. She joined ETM-CO after fourteen years of teaching elementary general music in various schools in the Denver metro and Morocco. She has mentored several student teachers in her classroom and currently supervises student teachers at Metro State University. She has also served as a teacher-leader in Denver Public Schools to provide professional development to her music education colleagues. Karissa performs regularly as a singer, pianist, cellist, and banjoist. She is a founding member of a women’s folk trio called Falling for Annie and leads the alto section of Denver Choir League. Karissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education (St. Olaf College), a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (Walden University), and three levels of Orff-Schulwerk Certification (San Francisco International Orff Course).
