A Community of Leaders United by Music and Purpose
Education Through Music–Colorado (ETM-CO) is proud to launch Musicianship in Business (MIB), a networking project designed to engage accomplished professionals across fields in ETM-CO’s mission of ensuring that music is a core part of every child’s education.
The Idea
Musicianship in Business is a platform for leadership, storytelling, and connection, built around a simple and powerful idea: the experiences and skills developed through music education—often beginning early in life—play a formative role in shaping confident learners, adaptive thinkers, and successful professionals across a wide range of sectors.
MIB brings together individuals whose personal and professional paths have been influenced by music through formal schooling, private study, or lifelong practice. Entrepreneurs, executives, innovators, and practitioners across disciplines share a common thread: music has meaningfully shaped how they think, learn, collaborate, and lead.
By elevating these stories through curated content, community engagement, and selective convenings, Musicianship in Business translates lived experience into public advocacy—placing leadership voices in service of expanding access to music education for children in under-resourced public schools across Colorado, one of the few states without a statewide requirement for elementary music or arts education.
THE CALL
Musicianship in Business invites leaders and corporate partners to engage with ETM-CO’s mission in a distinctive and meaningful way—through inspiration grounded in lived experience.
Participants in MIB serve as ambassadors for music education, helping to expand awareness, mobilize investment, and demonstrate—through their own personal and professional journeys—how access to music can shape confidence, opportunity, and long-term success.
By aligning with a nationally recognized and locally rooted nonprofit like Education Through Music–Colorado, MIB participants join a trusted community of established professionals, connected by a shared passion for music. The initiative offers meaningful relationships and cross-sector exchange—while also creating space to nurture personal creativity, reconnect with one’s own musicianship, and experience music as a source of fulfillment and purpose.
Whether by taking part as an MIB Ambassador, supporting the initiative as a corporate partner, or amplifying the stories that emerge, Musicianship in Business represents a shared commitment to the next generation: ensuring that the expressive, cognitive, and social benefits of music remain accessible to the children who will shape tomorrow.
